Fairy Power

Dress Up Time

We invited the Keller Clan to come to the cabin with us this weekend. The girls started playing dress up and giggling. I guess the boys thought they were really missing out on the fun. So they joined in! I warned them that the pictures were going on the internet! They did it anyway! It takes a big man to pull off those get-ups! You go boys! By the way, nice boxers Jaxon!

Called to Serve

We took Elder Anderson to the MTC on January 21st 2009. It was a beautiful day! We had a few minutes to take pictures inside the lobby, then they ushered us down the halls to the meeting room. We listened to two short speakers who went over some information for the incoming missionaries and then..... families out the front doors, Elders and Sisters out the back. Brian held it together pretty well, only a few minor tears. The kids and I were just kinda misty-eyed, and then there was Joe. I'm telling you, he is part girl! He bawled is head off! So much for doing the drive-by drop off! That was his original plan, to drive by the MTC, open the door and kick Brian out. My, my, how things change! Anyhow, the deed is done. We are proud of you Brian!

The Last Supper..... Anderson Style

The night before Brian left, the whole fan damily went to dinner at Jaker's. We had a wonderful time. Great company, great food. Every one gave Brian a bit of advise, which I'm certain he jotted down for future use, our advise is that good. Following dinner, we went home and changed clothes and then gathered at the Stake Center to set Brian apart as a full-time missionary. Then.... home to pack! Joe, Brian and Grandpa Anderson headed for Utah at 4:00 am on the morning of the 21st. The kids and I waited until 6:30 to leave. We met in Bountiful and had breakfast together at Ihop. On to the MTC!

A Love Story

Last year for Bonnie and Merlin's anniversary, Joe and I gave them a gift certificate to have some portraits taken. Here are some of the other treasures from that shoot. Dear, sweet, Alyce.... how can we ever thank you enough!? These precious pictures were taken by Alyce Clegg at her studio in Ammon. She did such a beautiful job! (She was kind and generous enough to give us the disk and copyright). I thought these were so telling of the sweet relationship they had, that I just had to post a few. Seeing them together kinds feels like home, and yet makes me fell a bit sad. Oh how I miss that smile......

Merlin had a hard day today. He is so lonely for his sweetheart I hurt for him and it saddens me that I am to helpless. I wish I could take the hurt away for even just a moment. He had seemed to be muddling through as well as could be expected. Since he and Joe went to St. George.... lets just say that he has taken a giant step backwards. Bless his heart! We will make it through together, because after all, in the end, together is all we have.

Cheer Camp 2009

This year for cheer camp I finally got it right! I got there for the kids performance 45 minutes early. I got to get a great seat plus I got to record Madison's practice on the gym floor before all the parents got there! Every other time I have gotten there just before it started, got terrible seats, and subsequently got terrible photos. This year I don't have to feel like a looser Mom anymore! The first clip is the actual performance and the second clip is the rehearsal. I tired to film her doing the cheer that they learned, but I messed her up. I was trying to get her to slide over so I could see her in between the girls in front and she got distracted. So... no cheer, however, she was in a great spot to film the dance routine! Way to go baby girl! I am proud of you!

Jitter Buggin' in the Kitchen

Waltzing With Gramps

Madison wanted to learn to dance like Grandma and Grandpa used to. So, Grandpa turned on sirius on the satellite to the big band station (I thought it was pretty cool that he even knew how to do that), took Miss Madison into the kitchen and taught her a cute waltz. I wish the audio was better so you could hear them both counting under their breaths ..... "1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3....".
In case you were wondering what's up with the headphones, Merlin uses them so that he can hear the TV, plus they are just so dang cute with his outfit!
Every hoofer should have 'em!

Gotta Love Leo's!

As per Joe's promise to Jace, (20 tokens for going skiing),I took the little bugger to Leo's Place today for lunch. He ate his corn dog at warp speed, then ran down to the arcade to use his tokens. About two minutes later, Jim Taylor came over and said to me, "Mie, you'd better get a suitcase for that son of yours". I was like, um, yeah, whatever. When I turned around, Maggot was standing there quite proud of himself with this red mass. I asked him what he did. His response....... "I just put in one token and pushed the button". If it's that easy, why do I never win anything?!

The Mrs

Not too long ago, our family stayed overnight in Salt Lake at the Little America. Madison and I went downstairs into the lobby to wander around. Who did we find there but Mrs. Arizona and Mrs. Utah, complete with sashes, as you can see. Madison was honored to have her picture taken with them! She started a little frenzy. By the time I had actually taken the picture, people were gathering around us wanting their pictures taken too! Madison was so excited that it was all she talked about for several hours after. Could that be Mrs Utah 2030 in the middle?!?

A Ski Bum in the Making

Yesterday Daddy took Jace skiing at Targhee for the first time. Jace got to have two private lessons and some great time out with his Dad. He was quite hesitant to go, as a matter of fact, we had to bribe him..... 20 tokens at Leo's.... to get him to agree to just watch. When he came home, he was full of smiles and says he wants to go again and again and again and again...............
